To celebrate International Women’s Day 2020, I joined forces with Bellerose to create a limited edition print (sold out).
All proceeds went to SEDT, a non-profit organization that provides access to education and coaching for Dalit girls and women in rural Tamil Nadhu, India. The purchase of one poster funds one girl’s classes and tutoring for one school year in India! The word Dalit is Sanskrit for untouchable or broken. Dalit girls are the most repressed people in the Indian caste system, for whom an education is often neither expected nor given. However, it’s education that can help break the cycle of repression and poverty.
